Relax, take it easy – these workouts will bust your stress Exercising on a regular basis will make you feel calm, cool, and collected.

You had a stressful day at the office, it’s 6 PM, you get a flood of e-mails and your boss asks you if you can write up a quick last-minute report for tomorrow morning’s meeting. You’re not sure if you should scream or cry. Well, don’t do either. Go blow off steam by doing one of these activities instead:

Dancing: It’s a high-energy activity that releases endorphins (the hormones that make you feel good and reduce stress), makes you smile with all the upbeat music, and has you laughing when you miss a few steps. If you’re as uncoordinated as we are, try a Zumba or Buti Yoga class. If you already have some serious skills under your belt, sign up for some hip-hop classes.

Tennis or soccer: Running back and forth on the court or the field will get your heart rate up and force you to focus on the task at hand – which is a form of active meditation. You’ll feel your stress melt away with each swing of the racquet or kick of the soccer ball.

Yoga: Research has proven that yoga can reduce stress and it’s great for anyone who likes to wind down in a calm way at the end of the day. The different poses you do will also help you pinpoint where you’re holding your stress the most in your body. You’ll breathe the stress away and get a great workout in.

Any sort of exercise will lower stress levels, especially if you’re doing something you love. So make sure to choose a sport, workout, or class that will put a smile on your face!
